I've never seen it from this angle, and for the first time, never felt any potholes. A.k.a. The Route 7 Bridge, and the Witt Penn Bridge, it was built in about 1926 and named for a former Mayor of Jersey City (1908-1913). Closed is it 35 feet above mhw, open it is 100 feet. A new bridge is planned to replace it which wil be 100 feet above mhw, so with no need for a draw bridge, the Witt Penn will be dismantled. Date?? 2011 to 2020?
