DSC00957 | A view of the Hackensack River Bridge (with the PATH train bridge just beyond). I've never seen it from this angle, and for the first time, never felt any potholes. A.k.a. The Route 7 Bridge, and the Witt Penn Bridge, it was built in about 1926 and named for a former Mayor of Jersey City (1908-1913). Closed is it 35 feet above mhw, open it is 100 feet. A new bridge is planned to replace it which wil be 100 feet above mhw, so with no need for a draw bridge, the Witt Penn will be dismantled. Date?? 2011 to 2020? | ![]() |
