| DSC02717 | The sign is wrong, this is actually the canal car hinge, the car being what carried the canal boat up the incline. Both the car and the barges were in 2 pieces and hinged together, so that they could bend when they reached the top or the bottom of the inclines plane. BTW, Plane 9W was one of only 3 planes in the MC system that could carry boats in 2 directions at once. | |
